The author Anders Allander was in January appointed Project manager for implementation of the Environmental Management System ISO 14001 at the Machines Division of ABB Industrial Systems AB.

After an intense work together with a project group of 4 persons and selected Reference persons within the organization the Machine Division succeeded to obtain its certificate in February 1997 as one of the first organizations in Sweden.

The Machines Division has since then served as a reference organization of good environmental work within and without the ABB-group. This has been appreciated by the ABB-group that has appointed the project as aa good example, which is redorded in ABB homepage www.abb.com/se and further under Miljö (environment) and Miljöarbete (environmental work) and finally under ABB Motors.

After the work as project manager and after that the certificate was obtained Anders Allander and his former project members had to prove that the environmental management system worked in good order.

Anders Allander has therefore as environmental coordinator within the Machines Division and has demonstrated that the system works extremely well and is performing a fantastic environmental result. But this is not a single man's work. Without a complete support from an engaged personnel and management at the Machines division this had never been possible.

Anders allander has been awardet the Title Specialist Environmental Management in 2001

He also has been appointed Sustainability Controller within a Busines Area of ABB working with Sustainability Management in 13 different companies spread all around the world.

He is now somewhat of an environmental guru and is an often seen guest speaker at universities, educational institutes and Industry. Among these appreciated guest speeches it may be mentioned the following :
