Communion
The picture above may symbolize international environmental efforts.
The different nations have here joined around a unifying environmental flag filled with symbols from Nature and the different nation’s internal flags.
In addition, the flagpole consists of flag symbols. It is firmly founded in the nature.
However, it is a danger present. Down in the bottom in the darkness there is a little nasty weed that may symbolize international environmental bandits.

Culture Flowers
The painting is called culture flowers and symbolizes a world with clean water, fresh air and clean soil where mankind lives in harmony with Nature.
The clean world is symbolized by a vase that at the same time is a terrestrial globe where five flowers are stuck into it - one flower for each continent of Earth. Europe with a European man surrounded by Europe flags as crown leafs. Thereafter there are more flowers for America, Africa, Asia and Oceanic countries.
The flowers get their power and nutrition from a vase, where they are located, that also symbolizes Earth.
The vase is filled with fresh water and the air around the flower is also fresh and without pollutions. Humans live in harmony with Nature.
The painting may also be a comment to the troubled World we live in.
Here it however is pointed out a hope of that human cultures may live in harmony and communion and peace with each other.
Deeper studies of the painting may point out even more symbolic values.

The picture treats recycling. An explanation of the symbolic values is showed below :
A brief look at the picture shows a tree that a sun is shining upon. The crown of the tree is however, a cloud that is full of Nature's symbols. It symbolizes the existence for humanity and animals that lives in harmony with Nature.
It falls rain from the cloud-crown and non hazardous waste in form of leafs or hearts that hits the ground. This fresh water and nutrification are sucked up by the roots of the tree and is transported to the crown in a constant and eternal recycling. The process is kept running by energy that comes from the sun.
The painting is a symbol for Recycling!

The Oak
The piece of art The Oak was created 1966 in black Indian ink. It shows a tree with intense patterns in the bark and in the roots and in its top. It is almost possible to see the tree as the swamp cloud of a nuclear bomb.
It then can be a matter of an environmental destruction or a terrible destruction of capital and human values.
This symbolizes the end of the life of the man and his family in Argentina. The ruthless intrigue makers take over the complete corporation using financial manipulations
The patterns of the oak also may be seen as the chaos in which the man is to be found.
He is ordered to close down his profitable, expansive, well working operation in Argentina and fire his 100 loyal, good collaborators. However the man and some of his colleagues give an offer to GP Corporation to buy Elmaque and continue its activities in Argentina. But GP refuses. It is a total tragedy and disaster!
But the Oak also in a more general sense may symbolize the complicated life of humanity. You have to walk many troublesome roads to reach the top of the oak and rise in full power. Some persons remain on the ground, while some people may come halfway. But some of them reach the top. The future will tell where the man will end up.

Dead Dog
The picture Dead Dog illustrates a very common sight along South American roads. There often lie dead dogs there and nobody takes care of them.
They lay there and decay until they totally have been consumed by birds and insects. The man and his family had such a dog killed by the heavy traffic. But he got a decent funeral in the garden that was his home!
But he came back in a new reincarnation in form of his brother, who was taken back from some villains that had stolen him some months ago!
The picture is created 1990-07-25 using water based Indian ink upon drawing paper of size A3.

The Little Bugs
The picture The little bugs symbolizes the artist’s experience during a night in the little town Chui on the border between Uruguay and Brazil. A summing up is demonstrated below :
”Dawn comes rapidly and soon the night is totally black.
The air is filled with tropical warmth and humidity and soon also is filled by black bugs small as a thumbs nail. It is a complete swarm of them! They are everywhere and lie in piles on the streets and pavements. It crackles when we walk the pavement. They get stuck in our cloths and in our hair and it really is unpleasant.
We can hear a humming from the swarming little bugs and we see that the whole sky is filled with them! This is more than the swarms of cockchafers we can see in southern Sweden. This is extreme! They also enter into the hotel and we have to sweep them out from our room trying to avoid that they disturb a good night sleep.
But it is impossible to open the windows and air our warm and damp room because they directly will enter. We lay awake during some time while we hear the bugs rattle on the window. Finally we get to sleep!
In the morning, when we come out from the hotel, there still are piles of the small bugs on the pavements. It still crackles when we stroll on the pavements. But the swarms in the air have disappeared!”
Can it be a matter of pure environmental issues, such as to take care also of small swarming bugs? Is it a matter of balance, keeping the population of different species of animals on a more acceptable constant level?
Can man intervene in order to create balance?
The picture also can have other interpretations.
It might be a matter of a mob that harasses a poor, different, maybe more beautiful individual, who now lies underneath the pile of creeping bugs. You here also can point out observations on phenomenon from animal life.
But the picture also may give associations to human life with mobbing and harassments in society, the business world, organizations, schools etc. These are very common phenomenon also for humans.
In such a case you can give the picture a totally different dimension.

Allanderistic City of Dump
The picture may symbolize the enormous mountain of landfill waste that may be the result if people do not start the activities of recycling in an efficient way as soon as possible. A skyscraper is the only building that is shown of the city that has been drowned by the mountain of waste. However, the skyscraper itself is crouching by the environmental stress.
It may be the city of Västerås that in a future may look like this if no change of the situation will take place. It is crisis!

Frozen Flower
The picture Frozen Flower is a comment to Swedish energy politics and especially the politics of the Environmental Party (Miljöpartiet).
The picture symbolizes the politics of the Environmental Party if their politics is driven to its utter end. No realisticc sources of energy is to be used, making the winter of the Environmental Party become very hard and cold, without any possibility to in an economical way heat the homes.
The little yellow dandelion of the Environmental Party stands out in the cold and has to sweep a green scarf around his neck trying to keep him warm.

Green energy
The picture Green Energy is a comment to Swedish Energy politics.
Economical and environmental friendly nuclear power plants are closed down in Sweden and are replaced by expensive bio power plants. The raw material for the bio power plants for Swedish use is not completely avaliable in Sweden – except of a fraction of the need - in order to replace nuclear power. Due to this raw material is imported with long transport consuming large amounts fossile fuel. It also is completed with purchasing of expensive energy from Denmark, Poland and Germany based upon lignite or stone coal.
The picture illustrates how money is burned up.

The Greenhouse effect

It shows a bird in the air that is caught by black pollutions that grab the bird. The pollutions also have the form of a sharp thistle or thorns that have caught the bird.

The traffic
The piece of art The traffic consists of different photos, taken by the artist during his time in Argentina during the years 1978-1982.
They illustrates the complete chaos present on the roads and strees in Argentina during that time.
Here one can see wrecked cars and busses. Here on can see un disciplined driving not following the lines onthe roads. Here one see a car stopped at the highway as the driver wants to chat with a friend on the road. Here they drive against red light. Here they cross the railroad just before the train arrives. Here one can see veterancars mixed with other traffic. There are beach-cars on the roads. There are spontanous parkings. There are service stations serving vine to the drivers. There one can see a Estacion de Serveza – service station where the drivers can have some beer for the journey. Here one can see horses with wagons on the street. Here one can see parked or rolling wrecked cars. Here you can see it all and a little more.....

The Wave III
The picture above demonstrates also a system in balance and harmony. Here humanity and Nature is in balance on a balance system with a sun in the middle of it. The sun symbolizes the basic condition for humanity and Nature. The balance also is a wave in a sea with undulating water.

He is tough and ruthless and does not care about what other people think.
He squeezes the tits of his broad at the same time as he gives full speed and drives along. He really feels tough and invincible.
He is totally out of morals, but is a hero a well!

The theatre III : The Great Actor
The Theatre III : The Great Actor is included in a suit of pictures based upon the theme The Theatre.
The picture shows a tired actor, who anyway tries to let the show go on. He shows a positive mask before his real face and goes on playing his role. He hopes that the public will not observe his troubles, but let them be enjoyed anyway.

The piece of art A friendly game of cards shows 2 apparently nice persons playing cards with each other.
They show positive faces towards the other player.
The back side of the cards that they show up is full of kind suns and flowers.
Everything seems positive!

The right side is full of deadly arms.
The positive suns are just a front and a scene to show up.
The opponent ought to be very careful!
And the positive faces only are Poker-faces.
Their real faces and their thoughts are to find on their back-heads turned away from the opponent..

The blues of Twilight

The painting illustrates a singing bird high up in the sky. It flies in the brilliance of the sun, from which it gets strength from the basic source for all life upon earth. The bird may be the Phoenix, who after each 500 years burns up itself and thereafter rises from its ashes and becomes a new creation. Or might it be the immortal spirit of man that leaves the lamentations, intrigues and sufferings of Earth far down below?
Even the Earth itself gets its strength ant its light from the sun and is full of budding life symbolized by green leafs and beautiful flowers. But the beautiful Nature is mixed with dark thistles that are kept down by the power of Nature, making it impossible for the dark forces to take over. The thistles might symbolize negative and dark powers that by using intrigues and manipulations and greed try to take over life on Earth.
It also is possible to see other symbols in the painting, but it is up to the observer to seek more. Beside the symbolic values the painting also may be considered an aesthetic, artistic and happy play with forms and colors.

The face is flowing together with the night and one can only see reflexes in weakly illuminated areas in the face.
A yellow moon beam is making the white parts of the eyes yellow.
The night is filled by 10 stars of hope surrounding the black man.
Diffuse galaxies brighten the sky.
There are memories brought forward from the dark forming a blue sky with a sun in the center.
The memories brighten up the clear blue sky, where all previous black clouds are swept away.
Sun beams around the blue sky make the darkness disappear.
The suns beams are like light spears that penetrate the intense black, physical African night.

The Boxer
I have listened to Paul Simon’s song The Boxer many times.
The tunes are sweeping over me and the symbolic text makes me contemplate.
I am just a poor boy
Though my story’s seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of mumbles,
Such are promises
All lies and jest
Still, a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest
And the last part…..
”In the clearing stands a boxer
A fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminder
Of every Glove that laid him down
And cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his pain
I am leaving! I am leaving!
But the fighter still remains!”
The piece of art describes a boxer, who hears what he wants to hear. He is bringing up his blue umbrella and tries to sweep away the evil symbolized by grey clouds of thunder.
He tries to filter, what he wants to hear symbolized by love symbols such as flowers, hearts etc. And he stands up for simple truth such as that black is black and white is white and 2+3 = 5.
Lies and intriguing games are kept away by the opened umbrella. He does not want to hear such irrelevant matters. He ignores all that stuff.
Only flowers and beauty and joy and truth reach his ears and eyes.
He is holding up his boxing gloves as protection of himself, his family and his friends. But is it sufficient?

The piece of art named I am worth looking upon is a picture inspired by a song Deidre’s Samba that is about a woman in Rio de Janeiro, who in its joy of her youth want to dance Samba with men, that she meets upon the beach of Copacabana. She is beautiful to look upon and has love in her eyes, in spite of that she lives upon the oldest profession in human history.

The young woman in the painting approaches the observer with tempt ting smile, eyes and body and with her mountain behind herself. Or may the mountain around herself and within her thoughts and her feelings? On the mountain sides one can see the misery city – The Favelas – of the poor ones. In the shelf highest up on the mountain one may see a sun shining from inside the shed instead of sorrow. Her breasts are like budding flowers. She has got an air of blue shimmer around herself. Or may it be that the blue around herself in the bay of Copacabana?
The artist himself has stayed upon the hot beaches of the rich ones in Rio de Janeiro and has med women such as Deidre. He has seen and has been inspired by the enormous contrasts in this living city. He has seen the Favelas of the poor people climb upon the sides of the mountains from where people can look at the skyscrapers far below down in the city.
The painting consists of several more symbols, but it is up to the observer to seek further. Beside the symbolic values the painting also has other values such as a joyful play with forms and colors created in an artistic way.
